Hi there and welcome to the Blue Sky House Blog. I’m Rachel, blogger extraordinaire. Here’s what I’m about.
The Blue Sky House family currently consists of myself, Mr. Blue, and Baby Blue. We’re a multifaceted Western European-Indian-Canadian-American family with great respect for our cultural roots. We try to incorporate our respective traditions and values into our everyday life. It makes for some crazy holiday seasons and a constant stream of amazing food around here. You can expect to see a range of French, or Indian food recipes I’ve attempted, festival decor and celebrations as well as the occasional multi-cultural family rant and rave.
DIY and Home Style Creativity
We strive for budget smart house management so anything we figure we can do our selves, we do do ourselves (or at least try ). I’m pretty crafty as well, so on the blog you’ll be sure to see plenty of our DIY projects and some of my favorite crafts from around the web.
My background is in environmental studies and I’ll write from time to time on the subject of more eco-friendly, climate smart lifestyle choices. No preaching here though. In my opinion we’re all doing the best we can with what we’ve got.
Frugal Fashion and Beauty
More in line with the budget smart lifestyle, my beauty and fashion choices are always influenced by cost saving while still living well. Style and beauty are important, but not worth busting my budget on. Keep an eye out for the best drugstore beauty finds and frugal fashion inspiration.
Savvy Budget and Time Management
I’m an organizational minded, time management nerd at heart and will be writing on the subjects frequently. My love for schedules, charts, infographics, and other visually stimulating motivation will show through on the site without a doubt.
Words are powerful. And we all need a little inspiration from time to time. I’ll be posting quotes that I love on a weekly basis (Fridays for now).
I’m always happy to hear from my readers. If you have anything to add to a blog post, please comment or email me directly at BlueSkyHouseBlog@gmail.com. I’m always happy to make new friends and want the Blue Sky House to be a community of great people who share thoughts and ideas freely.
